Beloved Actor Ogunjimi Passes Away, Leaving Fans and Industry in Mourning

On Friday, April 26, 2024, the entertainment world was plunged into deep sorrow with the passing of veteran actor Ganiyu Oyeyemi, affectionately known as "Ogunjimi." 

The news was shared on social media by actor and producer Kunle Afod, who expressed, "We tried our best, but God loves you more. May his soul rest in peace, baba Ogunjimi."

Ogunjimi was widely recognized for his captivating portrayals of warlord characters in numerous films. 

 In a poignant video posted on TikTok last year, the seasoned actor opened up about the challenges he had overcome, including a debilitating stroke that left his limbs paralyzed and a severe accident that caused internal injuries. 

 Despite these setbacks, Ogunjimi remained resilient, stating, "There was a time I had a stroke, and my limbs were paralyzed. At that point, I thought I would never be successful. There was also another time I had an accident and suffered internal injuries. However, God continued to uplift me. Many things have happened to me, and I can only beg for God's mercies."

The news of Ogunjimi's passing has sparked an outpouring of grief and tributes from his fellow actors and devoted fans. Actress Sola Kosoko mourned, "Haa... Baba Ogunjimi... May his soul rest in peace."

 Actor Babatunde Tayo simply wrote, "Rest in peace, legendary (actor)." 

A fan, Okazaki, fondly recalled, "Haaaaaa Jogunomi, he gave me lovely memories,"  while another fan, Temi, praised, "Legendary acts are evergreen. Rest in peace, baba Ogunjimi." (Punch).
