GWR: Tunde Onakoya Smashes 58-Hour Milestone-“It is possible to do great things from a small place”

 

Celebrated chess maestro, Tunde Onakoya, embarked on a remarkable journey to surpass the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon and has now triumphantly reached the 58th-hour milestone.

In the early hours of Saturday, Onakoya took to his X account to share the exciting news with his followers.

Accompanied by a photo displaying the shattered record, Onakoya jubilantly excitedly “We have done it!”

With unwavering determination, he declared, “We’re pushing to 60 hours, guys. We’re not stopping yet. Let’s keep going.

We have a fundraising goal to meet for the education of African children around the world. This is our why – the reason we are doing this.

“Let’s demonstrate to the world the incredible power of love. Together, we can make this happen”, the punch.

The previous Guinness World Record of 56 hours and 9 minutes was held by Norwegian players Hallvard Haug Flatebø and Sjur Ferkingstad since 2018.
