₦14 Million Debt: Musician Portable Granted Bail After Arrest in Debt Dispute with Lagos Car Dealer
Portable, the popular Nigerian musician, has regained his freedom after meeting the bail conditions set for his release following his arrest by the Nigeria Police. The arrest was due to his refusal to pay a debt of N14 million, which he incurred when he purchased a G-Wagon from a car dealer in Lagos State.
Bail Confirmation
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that Portable had been granted bail after meeting the necessary requirements. This development comes after PUNCH Metro reported that Portable had not yet presented a reliable surety, which led to his continued stay in police custody on Wednesday morning.

In a series of viral videos, the public witnessed the moment policemen attempted to arrest Portable. In one of the videos, the musician can be seen attempting to evade arrest by fleeing the scene. However, the determined policemen gave him a hot chase and eventually caught up with him, pinning him down. Despite their efforts, Portable continued to resist arrest, forcing the policemen to carry and dump him inside a vehicle.
