Sola Sobowale, the iconic Nollywood star, has dispelled rumors of drug trafficking and her death.
In a recent chat on the 'Teju Baby Face Show,' the 58-year-old actress shed light on the false reports that emerged when she traveled to the UK, including rumors of her demise in Saudi Arabia.
Reflecting on the past, Sobowale shared, "God has blessed me despite the negativity that surrounded my departure from Nigeria. Many false stories were circulated about me, but I remained unperturbed."
During her time in the UK, she faced misleading reports, with some claiming she was reduced from grace to grass. She humorously recounted how she was once falsely accused of selling food in her sister's London restaurant, with headlines reading, "Sola Sobowale now sells eba."
Despite these challenges, the versatile actress, known for her diverse roles, remained unfazed. She even recalled how absurd rumors suggested she worked as a cleaner in a London eatery, despite previously owning a restaurant in Nigeria before pursuing acting full-time.
One of the most outrageous fabrications, according to Sobowale, was the claim that she had been executed in Saudi Arabia for drug trafficking. She sarcastically narrated, "They accused me of carrying cocaine, amputated my limbs, but I defiantly declared my Nigerian stardom, leading to my 'execution.'"
Upon returning to Nigeria, she promptly refuted these baseless stories, emphasizing her lack of geographical knowledge about Saudi Arabia.
Sobowale also highlighted the importance of parental care, drawing from her own upbringing where her parents' nurturing influenced her dedication to raising her own children with the same values.
The veteran actress revealed that she sacrificed her career for her children, expressing, "I selflessly gave it up without expecting anything in return," underscoring her commitment to caring for her family in the future.
