Mayorkun Threatens Influencer with N1bn Lawsuit Over Alleged Money Ritual Plot

Renowned afrobeats sensation, Mayorkun, whose real name is Mayowa Adewale, has issued a stern warning to social media influencer Precious Kingsley, known as Nicki Dabarbie, threatening legal action amounting to N1 billion if she fails to retract her claims of him and his colleague, Abbey Elias, also known as Skiibii, attempting to involve her in an occult ritual.

On the morning of Friday, April 19, 2024, Dabarbie took to her Instagram to accuse Mayorkun and Skiibii of conspiring to perform a ‘money ritual’ involving her.

Through a series of posts, she shared videos depicting herself, Skiibii, and others at Skiibii’s residence, along with footage of her receiving medical treatment for injuries. She boldly stated,

“His name is Skibii and that is how they all do in their house. They use people’s blood to buy cars. Don’t worry; it will not work for me.”

This was even as a voice which sounded like Skibii’s said, “What kind of highness is this. Let me take you home.”-Punch

In response, Mayorkun’s legal representatives, Monarchs and Stroud, penned a letter demanding immediate actions from Dabarbie. The letter outlined specific requirements:

  • Removal of the defamatory content from all social media platforms within 24 hours.
  • Issuance of a public apology, both written and in video format, on the same platforms used to tarnish Mayorkun’s reputation.
  • Cease all defamatory actions against Mayorkun.
  • Payment of a substantial sum of not less than N1 billion for damages incurred, including emotional distress, loss of endorsements, and legal expenses.

Earlier, Mayorkun’s manager dismissed the allegations as unfounded, emphasizing that legal measures would be taken promptly to address the situation.

Skiibii, on his part, refuted the influencer’s claims on his Instagram, revealing that the matter had been reported to the authorities. He asserted,“I want to clarify that the narrative being circulated by people and various blogs is completely false, and the truth will come to light on all fronts. I have reported the incident to the Nigerian Police Force, because there’s nothing to hide, and I trust that they will conduct a thorough investigation. I will let the law take its course this time.” punch stated.
