In a surprising turn of events, the Edo State Police Command has reportedly taken into custody the well-known singer, Cynthia Morgan, on charges of cyberstalking the esteemed Benin crown prince, Ezelekhae Ewuare.
The arrest of the singer, which occurred on Monday, stems from allegations that she has been cyberstalking the prince since 2020, claiming that he has been appearing in her dreams.
The unfolding drama was brought to light through an Instagram post by a prominent Edo-based blogger, @Edopride, who shared a compelling video capturing the moment when Cynthia Morgan was apprehended and escorted into a waiting vehicle from her residence.
Adding to the intrigue, the blogger also revealed a copy of the petition submitted by the prince to the State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Funsho Adegboye. The petition, dated May 4, 2024, bore the title, “Defamation, cyberstalking and harassment of Prince Ezelekhae Ewuare by Cynthia Ikponmwenosa Morgan.”

In the petition, it was detailed that Cynthia Morgan, also known as “Iamcmglobal” and “trulymadrina” online, had persistently attempted to contact the prince against his wishes. Allegations included physical trailing of the prince to his workplace and the dissemination of false and defamatory statements on her Instagram story since 2020, which were subsequently picked up and republished by various media outlets across the country.
Despite being advised by legal counsel to cease her actions, Cynthia Morgan purportedly continued to harass and stalk the prince online, prompting the prince to seek intervention to safeguard his privacy and well-being.
The prince emphasized his right to privacy and expressed his desire to be free from the unwarranted attention and distress caused by Cynthia Morgan’s actions. He highlighted her persistent attempts to contact him through multiple phone numbers, all of which were promptly blocked, underscoring his plea for her to desist from further engagement.
In response to inquiries, the State’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Chidi Nwabuzor, indicated that he was not privy to the details of the arrest and had not received any official briefing on the matter, adding a layer of mystery to the unfolding saga.
